Chris Truman – Host of American Gospel

Chris Truman is the host of American Gospel each Sunday afternoon from 1-4 PM on Joe 103.9. Chris has been with Praise FM, now JOE 103.9, for over 18 years and has hosted American Gospel for 24 years in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Throughout each week, Joe 103.9 airs feature interviews that Chris conducts with gospel music artists, local community leaders, and local citizens of note to showcase their work and contributions to our region. Chris also provides updates for community events that take place throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Chris and his mother, Barbara Truman, are members of 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church where Chris serves as Music Director, Pianist, Deacon and Trustee. Chris is a member of The Gideons International and The Rotary International as a part of The Wood County Rotary Club. For 24 years, Chris served as a Board Member of the “Gospel Music Reunion Choir” in Parkersburg and served as one of pianists for several years after the passing of Sandy Richards, the Founder and Director of the choir.

Chris loves gospel music, attending worship services and gospel sings and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. He is excited for the opportunity to encourage people with our music and planting seeds in the lives of those to need to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

If your church or organization has an upcoming event that you would like to share on our community events calendar, you can send us a message on our Facebook page at WJOE 103.9 or email all the information to [email protected].
