Kevin & Taylor – Weekday Mornings

Kevin and Taylor gets the day started with “Good, Clean, Fun” weekday mornings 5 to 9 on Joe 103.9. The Kevin & Taylor Show is a safe place to hang out, a judgement free-zone where we can do life together, laugh at ourselves, lighten the load of everyday life, and share the “welcoming heart of God.” The show is first and foremost a place that is safe for the whole family. A show that moms and dads can listen to and be entertained with music and information that’s relevant to their life and enjoyable for their family. The best part is listeners never have to change stations to avoid topics the kids in the car shouldn’t hear.

Enjoy Today’s Christian Music, news, local weather, and lots of fun weekday mornings with Kevin & Taylor on Joe 103.9.

Kevin Avery

When Kevin isn’t on the radio, he loves being with his wife Tracy and their 4 kids, Kyle, Autumn, Amber, and April. Kevin and Tracy met in high school but weren’t high school sweethearts. She kept him in ‘the friend zone’ for a few years! But through persistence and continually pestering her to go out with him, he finally won her over and they have been married for over 30 years.

Rescue dogs are one of Kevin’s passions. Currently they have 5 dogs including 2 retired racing greyhounds. The other 3 dogs are abandoned Spanish hunting dogs that were flown to the States to be rescued. The dogs have real European Union passports! And yes, Kev spends a crazy amount of money on dog food and vet-bills!

Kevin is a fitness fanatic. He’s run the San Francisco Marathon and the Atlanta Marathon twice. Cycling has been his main form of exercise for over 10 years. Kevin once covered over 10,000 miles in one year and once rode 300 miles in 3 days to raise money for Food for the Poor! He and his wife are also massive soccer fans and attend pro, semi-pro, and women’s matches regularly. Kev is a firm believer in ‘use it or lose it!’ If you keep moving, nothing can slow you down!

Music has always been one of the biggest parts of Kevin’s life. A self-described ‘guitar owner’ and enjoys playing one of his 11 guitars along with his favorite songs that you hear on the radio station! He is also an avid reader with a nightstand stacked full of titles. Everything from the latest book on living the Christian faith to a biography of one of his favorite musicians.

Faith is the cornerstone of the Avery family. Kevin and Tracy have both mentored people at their home church. Kevin, much to his surprise, was asked to be a guest speaker for the men’s group at the church!

Kevin say, “It’s an honor to be a part of the Kevin & Taylor Show. Hanging out with listeners who we consider to be our friends and family, all of us sharing our ups and downs, our joys and sorrows, we really are doing life together!”

Taylor Scott

Taylor says, “My husband, Glenn, is one of my best gifts in life. Not only did he move his Certified Financial Planning Company, so I could be on the Kevin & Taylor Show, he’s my biggest supporter. He makes me laugh so hard.” Taylor and her husband met on campus at Wheaton College and then traveled later that summer with a group of students and professors to Greece, Israel, Egypt and Italy. Her husband proposed to her in a hot air balloon! Thay got married right after she finished college while Glenn was still in Law School. They still love travel – especially when they get to see mountains.

Taylor was the typical middle child of 5 girls. She says, “I was the third daughter, and when mom and dad tired for a son, God gave them twin girls! I’m so blessed to have parents who love Jesus and taught me about God’s love for me.” Taylor’s dad was a pastor for 10 years and then a deacon. She grew up in the Church and went to Christian schools.

Taylor and her husband do not have kids of their own, but, she says, “We love kids and we’re crazy dog lovers too. My five sisters and Glenn’s sister have together given us 8 nieces and 3 nephews.” Taylor and Glenn are also godparents to Kevin and Tracy’s four kids. Taylor adds, “Glenn and I have tried to take the pain in infertility and turn our hearts toward gratitude, loving the kids in our lives, and being big cheerleaders to parents (ya’ll have the toughest job!). We also approach our finances, so we can help take care of widows and orphans through our favorite charities.”

Taylor is kind of a “Tom Boy”. She hates shopping, and loves trail running, mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and has run 2 half marathons and 2 full marathons. Taylor says, “I’m happiest when I’m outside with my husband on a sunny day. And a good day involves some type of dark chocolate.”
